221b Baker St.

The Personal Journal of Dr. John H. Watson, late of the Army Medical Department

11 May, 1889
Upon returning from a visit with relatives north of London, I returned to the flat that I shared with my eminent colleague, Sherlock Holmes, to find my friend missing, and many peculiarities, the likes of which I have never seen, in and about our abode. I share my recollections and thoughts below.

Our sitting room was left much the same as I had left it a week ago when I had departed.

With the exception of many unwelcome guests! I must speak to Mrs. Hudson.

I found many of my personal effects on display as if for entertainment...

...And a letter from Holmes...
...Along with his notebooks and magnifying glass, behind panes of glass in display cases, as if we were objects to be studied at university.

Not to mention several unconvincing dummies of past acquaintances littering our flat...
...and a vagabond in the wash closet.
